Overview of Innomotics
Innomotics became a separate entity from Siemens in 2023. Businesses that were previously part of Siemens, such as low- and medium-voltage motors, geared motors, medium-voltage drives, and large motors, were consolidated under Innomotics.
Motor Products
Innomotics has a broad motor portfolio. For low-voltage motors, Innomotics offers three-phase motors ranging from approximately 0.09 kW to more than 5 MW, suitable for both direct-on-line operation and operation with frequency converters.
Some of the main categories include:
- General Purpose Motors — for pumps, fans, compressors, and general industrial applications.
- Severe Duty Motors — for demanding and harsh industrial environments.
- Explosion-Proof Motors — for hazardous and potentially explosive areas.
- Definite Purpose Motors — motors designed for specific applications.
- Permanent Magnet Motors — including high-efficiency IE5 motors.
- Medium/High-Voltage Motors — for high-power applications.
- Geared Motors.
- Motor + Drive Systems — integrated motor and drive solutions.
For example, Innomotics permanent magnet motors are available in a range of approximately 0.37–250 kW and are designed for high efficiency, including IE5 efficiency class.
The Connection with Siemens Motors
If you come across older motors labeled Siemens SIMOTICS or SIMOGEAR, some of these products are now continued under the Innomotics brand.
Innomotics explains that the brand transition does not change the product’s quality or performance. Technical documentation remains available, and existing MLFB/order codes remain unchanged. For example, the former Siemens SIMOTICS GP product line is now available as Innomotics GP.
Therefore, you should not immediately assume that an Innomotics motor is a completely different product. There is a strong connection in terms of technology, product platforms, and heritage.
